Off Off On

New songs

Seattle band Off Off On emerge from isolation and go full on power trio, uniting in harmony and the simple joy of music-making with people you like.

I caught up with longtime friend and former bandmate Dan Webb (he drummed in Sno*Boy for a brief time towards the latter year of our existence) to learn a bit about some new songs his band has been working on.

Tell me about these recent recordings

These songs are the result of seeing what could come out of a traditional power trio set up: a drummer, a guitar player and a bass player. We wanted to strip it down, focus on the harmonies, and just have something to say in the songs.

It’s been great as a band to stop the world and get off when we get to play together, and if little bits of that come through for the listener, then we are psyched.

It’s been a pretty rough couple of years for all of us. Acknowledging that as songwriters and artists is the only honest thing we can do, but so too is positing a way through it. In the case of music, it’s via the alchemical throb of rhythms and human voices.
